| Notes | This statement declares character variables. A new variable can be described using one of the two following formats: VariableName VariableName (length) VariableName is the name of the new variable. Length is the number of characters that it can hold and must be a number constant. A string in the method language may contain any number of characters, up to a maximum defined at compile time. If no length is given, the default is 255. (This is different to a Character field, which is always limited to 255 characters.) Many character variables can be declared in one string statement by adding further variable descriptions, separated by commas. |
